For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9)
Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life and no one comes to God except through Him.
(John 14:6)
He is the Light of the World and whoever follows Him, will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (John 8:12)
The night is far spent, the day is at hand; therefore, cast off the works of darkness and Put on the Armor of Light, Put on the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 13:12,14)
The electromagnetic (EM) spectrum is the range of all types of EM radiation. Radiation is energy that travels and spreads out as it goes. The source of the energy is the sun. The seven types of EM radiation that make up the electromagnetic spectrum are illustrated in the images below. Electromagnetic radiation can be expressed in terms of energy, wavelength, or frequency.
The Visible Light Spectrum is a range of seven colors, from longest to shortest wavelength; including, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Color is the eye's perception of different wavelengths of electromagnetic light. The color of a light is determined by the energy being radiated by the light’s source (the Sun). The wavelength of the energy being radiated determines the color we perceive the source to be. As the wavelength decreases, the energy increases. Therefore, violet has the most energy being the shortest wavelength. The speed of a wave depends on the medium it is traveling through. It can slow down and its wavelength can change when it enters a new medium.
Energy is the ability to cause change or to do work; power is the rate energy used. Said another way, power is the change in energy over the change in time. Power is the work done over the change in time.
As we exercise increased faith in Jesus Christ (spiritual work), we experience more of His Light. We obtain more energy and the power needed to change (repent) due to the enabling power of Christ’s Atonement. The Light and Power of Jesus Christ we experience in life will be proportionate to the degree of our discipleship. Today is the time to commit to a life of diligently learning of Him and following Him and the only Way to true happiness in this life and in the life to come.
Christ Light is shining on all of God’s children 24/7 through the Holy Ghost; all are alike unto God. We are the “medium” through which His Light can travel. Our focus in life should be to continually purify ourselves to allow more of His Light to pass through us and transform us.
Being born again, unlike our physical birth, is more a process than an event and engaging in that process is the central purpose of mortality. Let us not justify ourselves in a casual effort. Let us not be content to retain some disposition to do evil. - D. Todd Christofferson
Consider the following:
God provides more light and understanding as we obey Him:
The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday. (Proverbs 4:18)
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path (Psalm 119:105)
I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. (John 8:12)
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. (Ephesians 5:8)
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5)
….blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him that receiveth I will give more….(2 Nephi 28:30)
Salvation is a process, not an event. (Colossians 1:21–23)
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)
If ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now? (Alma 5:26)
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? (1 Corinthians 6:9)
Wherefore teach it unto your children, that all men, everywhere, must repent, or they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God, for no unclean thing can dwell there, or dwell in his presence. (Moses 6:57)
Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness (Leviticus 15:31)
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. (Psalm 24:3-4)
….begin to exercise your faith unto repentance, that ye begin to call upon his holy name, that he would have mercy upon you; Yea, cry unto him for mercy; for he is mighty to save. (Alma 34:14–18)
The Apostle Paul taught that the Lord’s teachings and commandments were given that we may all attain “the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:13) That process requires far more than acquiring knowledge. It is not even enough to be convinced of the gospel; we must act so that we are converted by it. In contrast to other preaching, which teaches us to know something, the gospel of Jesus Christ challenges us to become something.” - Dallin H. Oaks
